From NYC
MORE PHOTOS!!!!! Many photos have comments by me...I wish I could write more here but if I don't sleep then I will not get enough rest and Peter is sleeping right now so he will wake up with energy and I will be sleepy and I don't want that to happen.
From the Big Apple!
Above is the link to the latest pictures. I have been terrible at updating this blog because I have been very busy and because I have not had the best internet connection lately.
NYC is where I am writing from and the city is really growing on me. I had so-so expectations and I think they are getting met. I find that it is actually not that difficult to relate to NYC locals. You can't be an idiot with them or they will be rude but if you give them a reason for them to trust/respect/like you then they are great.
More pictures will hopefully be up soon.

Into the South
The trip is going well. I head into South Carolina tomorrow. The car is holding up fine and I have decided that I like Chick-Fil-A a lot...Fresno needs one...I hear one is coming later this year. It will probably come in just as I leave Fresno...go figure.
The weather has been wonderful and I have not had to deal with more than just a few sprinkles recently. Even the snow in Colorado wasn't that bad. I have been staying with lots of nice people which I think is distorting my view of America. If this keeps up then I am going to think that America is a utopia...just kidding.

An Evening With Huckabee And A Very Long Drive

I was able to spend an evening hearing Gov. Huckabee talk about education. Afterwards I was able to meet and talk with him. He was very genuine and personable. I think he made everyone feel relaxed and not nervous around him. He is starting a new political organization on the 15th of April to support conservative candidates and conservative thought. His website is http://mikehuckabee.com
I have added more pictures for all to see at:

I am writing from Tulsa, Oklahoma and will be in Texas tomorrow.

Wrapping up from New Mexico
Today I got a tour of the city by a friend named Dave. He showed me the old town and we had milkshakes and walked through the shops. We were going to take a tram to the top of moutain that towers beside the city but it was closed so we drove to the top of the mountain. It was a very good view and was pretty windy and cool. We also had a snowfight up there too. That evening I met with a group of 6 other Mike Huckabee supporters for dinner. After dinner Dennis and Wendy took me by the downtown and by University of New Mexico.

Sedona Today
http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2009631&l=5ffee&id=159900244
Flagstaff, AZ sits at almost 7,000 feet and still has snow on the ground in a few places. Just a few miles down the road, Sedona, AZ is 15-20 degrees warmer with a completely different surrounding. Instead of a forrest is red canyon walls and small shrubs. The elk in the area are smart and they shift from the mountains to the high desert depending on the weather.

Backing up to a few days, I was able to hang with my buddy Josh who is working hard on a law degree at Pepperdine in Malibu, CA. I sadly failed to take a picture of me with him although I did snap a picture of him on the wall after he had gone off to class but before I had left the place.

Day 4 Already

On my way...
PS - Im listening to a book called "Hitler's Youth" and it is a very good study of history. It talks about how the rise of the "national socialist party" a.k.a. the Natzi party was driven by 10-20 y.o. youth. Very amazing story and reminded me how a nation's citizens must be vigilant about what is allowed to happen (ie. it is a bad sign when life is not respected, books are burnt, and one man is the supreme commander of a nation) otherwise a snowball effect can happen and great damage can be done.

2.5 Days Till Takeoff!
This evening I got bottled water from my dad (thank you) and snacks at from Target. Also filled up the car with gas and did some fine-tuning of the schedule. I also am working on getting some audio books organized on my MP3 player so that I don't have to listen to music 24/7 when I drive.
I am guessing that I will take about 2,500 pictures on this trip...we will know if that was a good guess in about 2 months.
